Now at full maturity, the 2008 vintage marks the 75th anniversary of this classic oak-aged reserva from La Rioja Alta. It offers a beautifully mellow, harmonious palate, with notes of woodsmoke, forest floor, and dried red and black fruits layered with exotic spice. Henriot has a wonderfully distinctive house style with a note of flint and chalk on first opening. This chardonnay-dominant blend has had three years on its lees to give a great depth of brioche and honeysuckle flavours, which last well on the long finish. 12%

Made from a blend of tannat and cabernet sauvignon and aged in used barrel for a year, this is deeply coloured and well polished, full-flavoured and thickly textured with a taste of black fruits and spice. Perfect with a rib of beef. Drink this year to 2040. 13.5%

A great blend of sangiovese with 15% sagrantino and 25% merlot, creating a medium-bodied, refreshing central Italian red, with sour-red-cherry and wild floral notes, and a balanced soft finish.Winners of our 2024 Climate & Nature fund which will go towards a project to revive an ancient method of vine cultivation that has now largely fallen into disuse – the planting of ‘married grapevines’. The project is to test the financial and environmental benefits (and share the outcomes) of planting 35 trees together with 35 trebbiano spoletino vines to see how this improves resilience, biodiversity and wine quality. Sattlerhof’s highest vineyard, Ried Kapellenweingarten, sits at 550m altitude and the 2020 vintage shows the precision and freshness that define Südsteiermark and put the region on the map for world class sauvignon blanc. Produced in small quantities by one of the region’s most respected family estates from selectively hand-harvested grapes grown on gravel and conglomerate soils are fermented and aged in large, seasoned oak barrels, lending subtle texture without masking the purity of fruit. Aromas of ripe pear, Alpine herbs and yellow pepper mingle with hints of fennel and fine mint. The palate is long and focussed, with a crisp, mineral backbone and a touch of meadow herb lift. A magnificent, powerful Gran Reserva from selected plots within the Contino estate situated near the town of Laguardia in the Rioja Alavesa. The Gran Reserva is only released in excellent vintages and only in large formats, ensuring it will always be something shared. The 2011 is in a great moment, showing plenty of primary, succulent fruit, seamlessly interwoven with all-spice, cherry-vanilla and some tobacco earthiness from the time in bottle. The excellent 2016 vintage has matured beautifully, with earthy forest-floor notes and compote-like berry fruit now weaving through the wine’s underlying power, minerality, and lively ripe black fruit. The bright acidity still shines, keeping it vibrant and balanced even after nine years. What an absolute bargain for the quality. Drink this year to 2027. 14%

The Vialard family has produced a wine with attractive vibrant fruit and well-judged ripe tannins, combining harmoniously with a hint of new oak on the finish. A small amount of malbec was added to the blend for the first time since 2010, adding complexity of flavour. As a 2025 Wine Champion, this 2018 claret was judged to be ‘in a really good place’, showing ‘a really pure texture,’ ‘beautiful cedary maturity’ and a ‘really long’ finish. It’s a harmonious, attractive, vibrant and complex endorsement for the value Bordeaux can offer. ‘Drink that with steak,’ said one taster, ‘it’ll be lovely’. Drink this year to 2033. 14%

With deep colour and bold, berry-laden character, this is another impressive Dutruch from the Cordonnier family`s excellent property. A blend of 63% cabernet sauvignon and 32% merlot, with small amounts of cabernet franc and petit verdot adding texture and spice. Drink this year to 2039. 13.7%

Grapes are sourced from the villages of Charnas, Tournon and Mauves; the same south-east-facing slopes as the Granits, but younger vine fruit. With ten years of age now, this wine is starting to develop beautifully and come into its own. 2015 is a fantastic vintage with plenty of juiciness, power and structure. It is a vintage that is charming but that will also keep for decades to come. Classic syrah notes of violets and black pepper with some hints of savoury spice and development starting to resonate. From the steep, slate slopes of the Mosel Valley, this bone-dry riesling is produced by famed Thomas Haag. It offers citrus, white blossom and verbena with a steely finish and a nervy and refreshing acidity. It makes a wonderful centrepiece for any table in the double magnum format. With the classic ‘tar and roses` Barolo profile, this was the first wine that Renato Ratti made from a small single plot right below the Abbey of L`Annunziata at La Morra. It is hand harvested, destemmed and matured in large Slavonian oak for two years. Drink this year to 2035. 14%

With the expertise of six generations of family ownership, Pol Roger craft the bone-dry, clean-cut, floral character of Brut Réserve with impressive consistency. A three-way blend of the trio of Champagne varieties, with the toastiness of lengthy yeast-lees-ageing and a famously fine mousse that never fails to hit the spot. In this jeroboam bottle it makes for a magnificent centrepiece for any celebration. 12.5%

Made along the heel of Italy in sea-cooled but sunny Puglia, this old-vine negromaro is generous and soft, with blackcurrant and plum flavours. There's a little mocha and a sweeter finish point , with well-judged ageing in large old oak barrels really enhancing the overall quality. Drink now to 2027. 13.5%

The Gramona family have been crafting fine wine in Penedès since the mid-19th century and are today celebrated as one of Spain’s great sparkling wine producers. III Lustros is their flagship long-aged cuvée: a blend of 75% xarel·lo and 25% macabeo, aged for more than seven years (87 months) on its yeast lees before release.
