Colecci?�n Privada is Marcos Eguren???s expression of the balance between tradition and modernity in Rioja. Made from 100% tempranillo sourced from two old vineyards, Jarrarte and Finca Los Terreros, planted in 1957 and 1959, both plots are vinified differently; one with whole bunches (modern way), the other destemmed (traditional way). The wine is then aged in equal parts French and American new oak. The result is a concentrated, powerful Rioja with remarkable richness, yet a smooth, approachable character. A striking, finely sculpted white Rioja, Arriscado, Eduardo Eguren's second vintage, is mineral, faintly reductive, and savoury, with tangy notes of lemon and grapefruit carried by a taut, linear structure. The only white wine made by Eduardo, it comes from El Llano, a north-facing vineyard planted in 1966 in the San Vicente region. Predominantly Viura, with the remaining 25% a mix of garnacha blanca, malvas?�a, turrunt?�s, do?�a Blanca, and calagra?�o, the wine is shaped by Eduardo???s restrained use of oak, allowing its freshness and precision to take centre stage. Almirez Teso La Monja is the gateway red to great fine wines of Toro, produced by the Eguren family, Toro's leading pioneers who co-founded the legendary Bodega Numanthia. Thanks to some much needed rainfall in August the 2024 displays good balance and freshness. It's a concentrated red, with bold flavours of cherry, plum, coffee, and aniseed, reflecting the region's distinct terroir and winemaking tradition, made from an ancient clone of tempranillo, known locally as tinta de Toro, which was famed in the Middle Ages for producing some of Spain???s finest red wines. Grapes are sourced from vines ranging from 15 to 65 years old, with a focus on organic and biodynamic practices. Drink from 2028 to 2035. 14.5%

Produced from some of the world???s oldest ungrafted tempranillo vines, planted in the late 1800s at 900 metres above sea level, Alabaster is the flagship of Teso la Monja and a benchmark for the Toro region. Yields are kept deliberately low to concentrate flavour and preserve quality whilst fermentation takes place in small oak vats, with gentle foot treading to ensure finesse and balance in extraction. The 2024 vintage is true to Alabaster???s luxurious style, offering power with poise. Deep notes of black cherry, cassis and spicy oak are met with hints of wild herbs and mocha. The structure is sleek and refined, with fine, firm tannins and a tension that suggests a long, graceful evolution in bottle. A wine of richness, detail and remarkable ageing potential. El Tiznado might one of Spain???s greatest Rioja wines, and certainly the jewel in the crown of Eduardo???s remarkable line-up. From a single, south-west-facing plot planted in 1923 at 500 metres altitude, this astonishing tempranillo is the product of closely spaced, genetically diverse vines selected through traditional 'massale' methods. The name El Tiznado, meaning 'the stained one', refers to the vineyard???s striking red soils, rich in ferric oxide. These shallow, sandy soils, formed from the weathering of calcareous sandstone shape the wine profoundly. The poor, mineral-rich earth produces a deeper, darker fruit profile, with black cherry, blackberry and a subtle ferrous edge. El Tiznado is both powerful and poised: dense yet fresh, structured yet lifted. Fine, silky tannins frame the layered fruit, while its clean precision and long, mineral finish leave a lasting impression. This is Rioja redefined, a wine of depth, tension and timeless beauty. Sourced from the tiny 1.4-hectare El Bosque vineyard, set on gravelly soils above the Ebro River, this El Bosque is a striking expression of terroir and precision. The Eguren family recognised the vineyard???s exceptional drainage and likened it to the great growths Bordeaux. With naturally low yields, El Bosque delivers a wine of remarkable depth and structure. Deep in colour, it bursts with intense blackcurrant, black cherry, with spicy aromatics and aniseed notes, carried by vibrant energy and finishing with a savoury, muscular edge. La Nieta is the flagship wine of Vi?�edos de P?�ganos, the Eguren family???s estate founded in 1998 in the village of P?�ganos, near Laguardia in Rioja Alavesa. Sourced from a meticulously farmed 1.78-hectare plot just beside the bodega, it showcases the finesse and precision that tempranillo can achieve. In 2024, the wine expresses great aromatic lift from the Atlantic influence lending floral brightness to its tightly coiled core. Expect vivid red fruit, blue flowers, and a subtle smokiness. The painstaking berry by berry selection is testament to Marcos Eguren???s commitment. Chalky, poised and finely structured, this is a wine with both immediate charm and superb ageing potential. The most ethereal of Eduardo Eguren???s range, Yelsones is situated in La Raz, a very high altitude plot in the Peci?�a hamlet of San Vicente de la Sonsierra. The fresh, electrics of this remarkable Rioja can be attributed to the limestone-rich soil, scattered with blocks of calcium carbonate known locally as 'yelsones', which give the wine both its name and its vibrant mineral profile. The 18 months of French oak is there to bring subtle spice and texture, for it is the layers of fruits and florals that embody this wine. Rose petals, red cherries, wild strawberries and liquorice are framed by chalky almost weightless minerality. This is a Rioja of finesse and precision, modern in its purity yet steeped in heritage and class. Drink from 2028 to 2036. 14%

Now in its third vintage, Septeno is the seventh wine released by Eduardo Eguren, crafted from a 2.5-hectare parcel in La Canoca planted in 1972. This site holds deep personal significance, lying next to the vineyard where Eduardo???s father, Marcos Eguren, created the iconic San Vicente in 1991. With Septeno, Eduardo set out to make his own single-vineyard expression from this historic valley. Nestled near the mountain forest, the plot receives limited sunlight due to its orientation and benefits from cooler, more humid conditions, ideal for producing a wine that???s refined and fresh. To highlight the purity of fruit, Eduardo uses partial whole-cluster fermentation, adding subtle spice notes of clove that weave through layers of sweet red fruit, rosemary, and thyme. Victorino is the most muscular of Marcos Eguren???s Toro wines. Produced from a selection of 45-100 year old vines across five top vineyards spanning 25 hectares, are grown on poor stony soils that stress the vines just enough to produce incredibly concentrated and complex fruit. The 20 months in new French oak, soften the powerful yet powdery tannins, and the result is a wine with impressive power, full of blackberry fruit, dark chocolate, violet and cedar.
